What a blunder in Japan! Liam Lawson still a Red Bull driver – PHOTO. Japanese GP organizers forgot that Liam Lawson is no longer a Red Bull driver! .

Liam Lawson, 2025 F1

The news of the driver swap between Liam Lawson and Yuki Tsunoda at Red Bull made waves online last week, but someone seems to have missed it. The Milton Keynes management decided to demote the young New Zealander after just two races, as his results were lacking, with the #30 consistently at the back of the grid.

Thus, Christian Horner opted to promote the Japanese driver, who will move from Racing Bulls to Red Bull, replacing his former teammate. Liam Lawson, on the other hand, will return to the Faenza-based team after his decent debut last year.

The decision sparked mixed reactions in the motorsport world. Notably, Max Verstappen’s stance against Red Bull’s decision to replace Liam Lawson with Yuki Tsunoda made headlines. Even the father of the four-time world champion sided with the New Zealander, wishing him good luck at Racing Bulls.

Last week’s shake-up in Formula 1 must have prevented the Japanese GP organizers from making some updates. A fan on Reddit pointed out that at Nagoya Station, in the Nakamura-ku area, posters displaying the F1 teams have not yet been updated. In fact, Liam Lawson is still listed as a Red Bull driver, while Yuki Tsunoda is still shown in Racing Bulls colors.

Yet just a few days ago, the train station had set up a dedicated stand for the Japanese driver, complete with a Red Bull car on display. The Grand Prix organizers probably didn’t have enough time to make all the necessary changes, and now we are already in Suzuka race week.
