The Brazilian Grand Prix weekend at the Interlagos circuit in Sao Paulo proved very challenging for several drivers, including Franco Colapinto. Between rumors about 2025 and the last races of the season, the Argentine driver reflected on the initial struggles of his F1 career.
Called up unexpectedly by James Vowles to replace Logan Sargeant, Franco Colapinto immediately impressed with his speed in both qualifying and race conditions. This strong performance has made him a coveted prospect on the driver market, despite the lack of available seats.
The grid for the next season is practically full, though there is a slight opening at Alpine and Red Bull. Jack Doohan might soon leave F1, and Pérez, despite significant sponsor backing, remains uncertain.
Franco Colapinto’s early challenges
Ahead of the third-to-last race of the season, Franco Colapinto spoke about the initial hurdles he faced since his Formula 1 debut. “It took me a little time to recover from Interlagos. In motorsport, there are tough moments that, even though you hope they never happen, eventually do,” said the Williams driver.
“The races before Interlagos went very well. Interlagos simply wasn’t my weekend, but it was a valuable learning experience,” Franco Colapinto added.
