The Formula 1 teams are gearing up for the final stretch of the season. Red Bull, still fully in the fight to win both world titles, will be bringing updates for the next round of the championship, the United States Grand Prix in Austin.
The last upgrades of the season?
It is highly likely that the modifications we’ll see in the United States in two weeks will be the last updates teams make to their cars before shifting all their resources, human and financial, towards 2025.
However, the updates that the Milton Keynes-based team is introducing could prove decisive for securing the world championships. The revamped components on the RB20 are expected to include the floor and the front wing, with the latter designed to be more flexible than the current version.
Considering the two championships standings, the Austin race represents Red Bull’s last chance: if the updates don’t work as expected, the team will almost certainly have to say goodbye to (at least) one of the titles.
In that case, we’ll see if Max Verstappen can manage his 53-point lead over Lando Norris, but the 41-point gap from McLaren in the Constructors’ Championship would become insurmountable.
All that’s left is to await the United States Grand Prix, with one certainty: unlike previous years, this Formula 1 season’s championship finish is still wide open.
