McLaren F1 heads to the Las Vegas GP
The dominance shown in the last street circuit race, the Singapore GP this past September, hints at McLaren’s high ambitions heading into the Las Vegas weekend. While there aren’t many similarities between the two events—given the Strip’s high-speed nature and the significantly cooler temperatures—the MCL38 has proven to be the most balanced (and often the fastest) car this season, regardless of the track type. This is why Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri, and team principal Andrea Stella arrive in Nevada with high expectations.

“It was great to be back at the factory with the team,” said Lando Norris, “ahead of the final three races of the year. I’ve spent time preparing in the simulator with my engineers. Everyone is motivated and ready to give it their all in the fight for both championships. Driving along the Strip under the Las Vegas lights is really cool, and I can’t wait to race. We’ve had a strong car this year, and the field is incredibly close, so I’m eager to see what we can achieve this weekend.”
“I’m excited to head to Las Vegas,” added Oscar Piastri, “and to start this important triple-header. We’re working hard to maintain our advantage in the Constructors’ Championship and finish the season on a high. The goal is to push as hard as possible to secure more wins and podiums before the season ends. The team has done an excellent job, and there’s a lot of determination among us. I’m highly motivated to achieve more success in this final stretch of the season.”
Team principal Andrea Stella weighs in
“After a demanding triple-header in the Americas,” concluded team boss Andrea Stella, “we now head to Las Vegas. This is one of the most challenging races on the calendar. As expected, our rivals are competitive, but we have a strong car and a team that has worked tirelessly all season. It’s been an incredibly intense year for everyone, and now we’re in the final push to get the job done. We’re staying focused because we know the hard work isn’t over yet. Every point matters, and the team is motivated to ensure a strong race and provide the drivers with the best package possible.” – the former Ferrari team member concluded.
