Mercedes heads to Las Vegas, Toto Wolff: “We want to end our journey with Hamilton on a high note”. Toto Wolff previews the F1 Las Vegas GP.

Toto Wolff, Mercedes team principal

Mercedes, different outlook compared to 2023
Last year, Mercedes arrived in Las Vegas amidst a fierce battle with Ferrari for second place in the Constructors’ Championship. This season, however, the scenario is vastly different, with the Brackley team firmly in fourth place, far behind rivals McLaren, Ferrari, and Red Bull, with no realistic chance of joining the fight. Yet, there’s still hope for a strong finish, as the race on the Strip marks the beginning of the final chapter in Lewis Hamilton’s long and successful journey with the Silver Arrows.

Las Vegas GP, Toto Wolff speaks
Team principal Toto Wolff is not hiding the team’s desire to win. The goal is to give themselves one more celebration before Sir Lewis transitions to a rival team: “Mercedes heads to Las Vegas ready for the final three races of the season. We are focused on ending this year on the best possible note and creating more memorable moments in 2024. We’re excited for the races ahead, to conclude our incredible journey with Lewis in style, and to build momentum for 2025.” – the Mercedes team principal pointed out.

Toto Wolff also shared his thoughts on the Las Vegas street circuit, where cars reach 300 km/h while skimming the walls: “We’re thrilled to return here because last year F1 put on an incredible show, and seeing the cars race down the Strip at night was one of the highlights of the season. The track itself and the environmental conditions presented fascinating challenges for both drivers and teams, creating thrilling races and an exciting Grand Prix. I’m confident this year’s event will be even better, building on the growing interest, success, and appeal of our sport in the United States.” – the Mercedes boss concluded.
