After winning the Brazilian Grand Prix decisively, Max Verstappen didn’t hold back from taking a jab at the British press during the conference. “I have a quick question! I don’t see the British press. Did they have to rush to the airport? Or did they not know where the press conference was?”
With this, Max Verstappen aimed to take down the British press, with which he hasn’t exactly maintained a relationship of particular respect and friendliness in recent times, following a Brazilian GP that will go down in the annals of Formula 1.
The return of Super Max
Starting from the seventeenth position due to an unfortunate qualifying session and a five-place grid penalty, the Dutch superstar began his remarkable comeback right from the start, making his way through several cars in the opening corners and finishing the first lap in eleventh place.
Then came a stroke of luck, as Lando Norris called it, with Verstappen taking advantage of the red flag caused by Franco Colapinto to change tires and restart from second position.
Then came the real masterpiece at the restart, with the Red Bull driver managing to easily get past Esteban Ocon and set an extraordinary pace, clocking record laps one after another.
From there on, it was simply a triumphant ride, leading him back to the top step of the podium after ten races without a win, and more importantly, securing his fourth Formula 1 world title. On the other hand, Lando Norris found himself licking his wounds at the end of the race. Starting from pole with the aim of clawing back important points in the championship fight, he ended up off the podium and had much to lament.
