McLaren won the Constructors’ Championship after a race at the Yas Marina Circuit last Sunday that kept all Formula 1 fans on edge. The Woking team, heavily favored after Saturday’s qualifying, had to contend with the collision involving Piastri and Verstappen and pushed through with Norris, who was then forced to win due to the strong performance of two Ferrari cars, with Carlos Sainz in second position and an incredible Charles Leclerc in third, making a remarkable comeback.
Andrea Stella credits all the men and women of McLaren
Lando’s victory brought McLaren a title they had been missing since 1998. A title earned through the hard work of all their men and women, who now look forward to 2025 with enthusiasm: “I believe it was the people who were the ultimate weapon that allowed us to close this circle. I’m not sure those listening can fully understand and appreciate what we have achieved unless you are part of such a fast-paced process involving about a thousand people. You cannot reach these standards, these performances, these operations, this reliability without every one of the 1,000 people operating at a very high level,” proudly stated team principal Andrea Stella, according to ‘GPBlog.com.’
Stella: “This must be a starting point”
“I would especially like to thank Zak Brown, Paul Walsh, and all our shareholders for their trust in the changes,” he continued. “Their faith has placed McLaren in a very solid position from a management perspective. When you create a solid environment based on trust and make the right investments, you can compete at the top and achieve these results,” he added.
“We hope this is not a point of arrival. This must be a starting point for much more in the future,” Stella concluded, renewing the challenge to Red Bull and Ferrari for the 2025 season.
