McLaren are ready to hit the track once again. The Circuit of the Americas marks the first race where the team will compete as reigning Constructors’ Champions — a remarkable milestone achieved well ahead of schedule. Step by step, the Woking-based outfit has rebuilt itself into one of the leading forces in Formula 1, and now it arrives in Austin with its two drivers, Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, still fighting for the world title. Team principal Andrea Stella also shared his pride and expectations ahead of the weekend.
Lando Norris expressed his enthusiasm, saying: “It’s fantastic to arrive in Austin as Constructors’ World Champions! But we still have six races left to go and a lot of important points to fight for in the drivers’ championship. The United States Grand Prix is always a lot of fun, especially since it’s a Sprint weekend. The fans create such an incredible atmosphere, and I really enjoy driving at COTA. It’s a fast track with great overtaking opportunities. I can’t wait to get going again.”
Oscar Piastri is equally motivated as the team returns to action: “I’m really looking forward to racing at the Circuit of the Americas, especially because it’s a Sprint weekend. I’m totally focused on performance and on giving my best in both races. The track has some really interesting sections, especially the high-speed esses, and the layout allows for great racing. I always have fun driving there, and this weekend should be another exciting one.”
Andrea Stella’s comments
Team principal Andrea Stella also underlined the importance of maintaining focus and momentum. “We arrive at the United States Grand Prix as the 2025 Constructors’ World Champions, and that’s something we’re very proud of,” he said. “This weekend is also a Sprint event, which gives both of our drivers good opportunities to keep collecting important points. It’s one of the drivers’ favorite circuits, so we’re looking forward to giving them the best possible conditions for a strong race weekend. I’m extremely proud of the entire team, who have worked so hard to bring us to this level — but we still have plenty to achieve before the season is over.”
With confidence high and motivation stronger than ever, McLaren enter Austin determined to continue their exceptional form, aiming for more podiums and crucial points in the final stretch of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship.
