McLaren title fight: Piastri and Norris ready for Zandvoort
After the summer break, Formula 1 returns to the track at the Dutch Grand Prix in Zandvoort, where the orange sea of fans will once again fill the stands. McLaren is expected to be a key protagonist on track, with a car that has been extremely competitive throughout the 2025 season and promises strong performance in the remaining races.
At Woking, the focus is on internal competition between teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The two drivers are separated by just nine points in a championship battle that currently favors the consistency of the Australian Piastri. Zandvoort will mark the beginning of a final-season sprint leading to Abu Dhabi, where both drivers are expected to push hard, taking calculated risks as seen in previous races in Austria and Hungary.
Oscar Piastri’s outlook
Oscar Piastri reflected on his preparation for the second half of the season: “I feel full of energy and refreshed after a short break and high-quality training in preparation for the last ten races. I’m ready for the second half of the season and I can’t wait to get back on track and fight for more victories. The first half of the season has been extremely positive. The team has done an excellent job with the car, and it’s fantastic to be leading the drivers’ championship. I look forward to the challenge ahead, starting with Zandvoort.”
Lando Norris looks ahead
Lando Norris also shared his excitement for the Dutch Grand Prix: “I’m thrilled to get back to racing. I feel rested and ready to tackle the second half of the season strongly.” Norris, who won at Zandvoort in 2024, added, “The atmosphere at the Dutch Grand Prix is always fantastic. We are competitive and ready to pick up where we left off. I am confident that we can fight for the top positions again.”
With both McLaren drivers motivated and the team fully focused, Zandvoort promises to be an exciting start to the final ten races of the 2025 Formula 1 season, setting the stage for an intense intra-team battle for victories and championship points.
