Alpine heads to Zandvoort: Colapinto and Gasly ready for Dutch GP

Alpine concluded the first half of the 2025 Formula 1 season at the bottom of the Constructors’ Championship, a result that certainly does not reflect the team’s efforts at Enstone. The A525 has proven to be a challenging car, but under the right conditions, it can score points—as Pierre Gasly has demonstrated on five occasions this season. What Alpine has been missing, however, is a consistently reliable second driver. Franco Colapinto is determined to put the first half of the season behind him, including a preventable incident during Pirelli testing, and start the second half with renewed focus and determination.

Zandvoort could play in Franco Colapinto’s favor. While he has never raced in Formula 1 at the Dutch circuit, he has gained experience on every other track on the calendar from Monza onwards. The former Williams driver shared his thoughts on the upcoming race weekend:

Franco Colapinto’s perspective

“I had a fantastic summer break, spending quality time with family and friends and enjoying the Mediterranean climate. I focused a lot on training and physical fitness, and I’m ready to get back on track for the second half of the season. The team has worked incredibly hard so far this year, and they all deserved a bit of rest. I really like Zandvoort—it’s close to my heart, having spent much of my junior career driving for Dutch teams like Van Amersfoort Racing and MP Motorsport. These past 12 months in Formula 1 have been a rollercoaster, with highs and lows, but it’s all helped me grow as a driver. The weather looks quite variable, so we’ll aim to seize every opportunity and secure a positive result.”

Pierre Gasly looks ahead

Pierre Gasly, who achieved his first Alpine podium at Zandvoort, added: “We are all motivated and ready to tackle the final ten races of the season with the best possible mindset. The Dutch Grand Prix kicks off this weekend at a circuit I really enjoy. Zandvoort is very old-school, with tight but fast corners, and the banked turns make it unique and quite exciting. I have special memories from my 2023 race here, and throughout my career, I’ve had good results on this track, scoring points last year as well. This weekend, we are aiming for a promising result.”

With both drivers motivated and the team fully focused, Alpine approaches Zandvoort ready to turn the page and make the most of every opportunity in the second half of the 2025 Formula 1 season.
