Isack Hadjar’s future in Formula 1 continues to generate discussion. The young Racing Bulls talent is under observation by Red Bull, which may consider him for a future promotion to the main team. However, not everyone sees this possibility favorably—starting with Nico Rosberg.
The 2016 world champion made his view on the matter very clear: “If I were Hadjar, and the team even began mentioning the possibility of a promotion to Red Bull, I would categorically refuse, as firmly as possible.”
Isack Hadjar must refuse Red Bull, even though…
However, it seems that drivers from the satellite team cannot truly decline a call-up from Milton Keynes. Their purpose is precisely to move up the ranks—a mandatory step if requested by the parent company.
Christijan Albers, former driver and now pundit, added to the critique. Speaking on the Formula 1 podcast by De Telegraaf, he said: “If I were managing Isack Hadjar, I’d do everything possible to get him out of the Red Bull family. Just look at Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz: they’ve built great careers outside of that system.”
Concerns stem not only from the highly competitive environment but also from the psychological pressure within the Austrian team, particularly for anyone sharing a garage with Max Verstappen.
Isack Hadjar in pole to replace Max Verstappen if suspended?
Currently, Max Verstappen has 11 penalty points on his super license. If he reaches 12, he will automatically be suspended. For this reason, according to De Telegraaf, Red Bull is evaluating two names for an emergency replacement: Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson.
Isack Hadjar has improved his performance recently, with a sixth place in Monaco and a seventh in Spain. In the standings, he is eleven points ahead of Yuki Tsunoda, his former teammate at Racing Bulls and current teammate of Max Verstappen.
However, Yuki Tsunoda has only marginally outperformed the driver he initially replaced at Red Bull. A troubling statistic highlights how the Japanese driver is struggling to stand out alongside Verstappen.
