Miami GP: Helmut Marko highlights Red Bull RB21 weakness despite floor update. Helmut Marko confirms reduced understeer with Red Bull’s new floor.

A new floor
Red Bull brought a new floor to the Miami Sprint weekend, but only for Max Verstappen. Team advisor Helmut Marko commented on the update to Servus TV: “Compared to Yuki Tsunoda, who doesn’t yet have the new floor, Max is experiencing less understeer. That doesn’t mean it’s completely gone, but we’re heading in the right direction.”

Christian Horner, meanwhile, denied rumours of a major upgrade package coming for Imola: “I don’t know where these rumours are coming from. We’re in a regulatory phase where improvements are minimal. Our performance has been lower in some races, but we’re the only team besides McLaren to have won a Grand Prix and taken a pole position. We’re 19 points behind in the championship and it’s a marathon. Who knows how the new front wing regulations will affect things—only time will tell.”

Helmut Marko and Christian Horner both agree on the team’s Achilles’ heel in Miami. The Austrian explained: “We’re losing mainly on the straights.”
