Red Bull has installed the Japanese driver Yuki Tsunoda’s fifth engine of the 2025 season and modified the brake cooling system configuration without FIA technical delegate approval

The Hungarian Grand Prix becomes even more challenging for Yuki Tsunoda. Under parc fermé conditions, the Japanese driver’s car received the fifth power unit of the 2025 season. Additionally, changes were made to the brake cooling system without the approval of FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer. As a result, the Red Bull driver will start the race from the pit lane at 3 pm local time.

Yuki Tsunoda’s weekend had already started poorly during qualifying, where he was eliminated in the first segment by Franco Colapinto. The Japanese driver would have started 16th on the grid, which is a significant disadvantage on a tight and technical track like the Hungaroring.

Yuki Tsunoda #22 is fighting to maintain his place in Formula 1, but since his promotion to Red Bull he has scored only seven points in 11 race weekends. This performance puts him in a difficult position both for a contract renewal at Milton Keynes and for his continued presence in the Formula 1 paddock in 2026.
