Mercedes F1 star Antonelli promotes early cancer detection with ANT Foundation. Mercedes F1 driver Kimi Antonelli joins the ANT Foundation’s cancer prevention campaign.

As his popularity grows, so does Kimi Antonelli’s commitment to social causes. The 19-year-old Mercedes F1 driver from Bologna is the face of the new campaign by the ANT Franco Pannuti Foundation ETS, dedicated to oncology prevention. The current World Championship leader has chosen to support the Bologna-based foundation pro bono to promote the vital importance of early diagnosis, specifically targeting a younger audience.

The campaign’s slogan—”The most important pit stop is prevention”—utilizes the language of Formula 1 to convey a crucial public health message. “I’ve realized that even when you’re going a thousand miles an hour, in every sense, it’s important to stop once in a while to check if everything is in order,” Kimi Antonelli stated. “After all, often after a pit stop, you rejoin the track stronger than before.” – the Mercedes driver pointed out.

The Bologna connection

The link between Kimi and ANT is rooted in their shared home of Bologna. The foundation, established in 1978 in the Emilian capital and now active across all of Italy, has had its eye on the young driver for some time. There is also a charming piece of trivia regarding this partnership: “The coincidence between our name and the abbreviation of his on the race graphics prompted us to reach out to him,” explained President Raffaella Pannuti.

Over the last 22 years, ANT has provided more than 314,000 free oncology prevention screenings (nearly 26,000 in 2025 alone), focusing on conditions often not covered by regional screening programs. These include melanoma, gynecological tumors, thyroid, testicular, and bladder cancers, as well as breast screenings for women under 45. The foundation operates through permanent clinics and four mobile units to reach even the most underserved areas of the country.

By leveraging his platform as a rising star in the pinnacle of motorsport, Antonelli is helping to break the stigma around health check-ups for young people, ensuring that the message of health and longevity reaches a generation that often feels invincible on and off the track.

Kimi Antonelli’s involvement highlights how modern athletes can balance the intensity of a championship battle with meaningful advocacy, proving that taking a moment to prioritize well-being is the ultimate winning strategy.
