Max Verstappen once again showcased his brilliance by climbing from 17th on the grid to the top step of the podium in last weekend’s Sao Paulo event. During a “Formula for Success” podcast episode with David Coulthard, Eddie Jordan expressed his deep admiration for Max Verstappen and his feat at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The Interlagos race posed a tough challenge, with tricky track conditions testing the skills of many drivers. However, Max Verstappen, who had been considered “under pressure” before the race, handled it all masterfully. Starting from 17th, he impressed fans and experts alike with his unmatched pace and flawless driving, leveraging a Red Flag period to clinch his first victory since June.
Max Verstappen’s drive left a profound impression on many, with Jordan especially taken by the 27-year-old’s performance. “I was absolutely speechless,” he said. “We’ve seen plenty of epic races, but this one stands above them all. It’s probably the greatest race I’ve ever witnessed.”
Eddie Jordan highlighted not only Max Verstappen’s aggressive and polished driving but also his composure during the chaotic formation lap restart. “I think it was the ultimate display of control. Max showed a deeper understanding of the rules than anyone else in the paddock. He didn’t react to the lights and stayed out of trouble. Those guys—referring to George Russell and Lando Norris—could have faced a 10-second penalty, and Max would’ve still won by 30 seconds. But that didn’t even matter.” – the Irish businessman, television personality and former motorsport team owner pointed out – “He was calm, calculated, and exemplary. For me, it was a lesson in how a driver can reach the pinnacle of their career and claim a fourth world title.” – he concluded.
