Max Verstappen, under fire even outside of F1. The Dutchman, a passionate sim racer and the star of Team Redline, participated in a virtual event last weekend at Road America. After several intense duels with Jaden Munoz from the Williams e-sports team, he ultimately ended up deliberately pushing him off the track.
Max Verstappen’s love for sim racing is nothing new. The now four-time Formula 1 world champion frequently takes part in virtual races, even during Grand Prix weekends. This has become a hot topic this season, with some accusing the Dutchman of sacrificing his rest before races to compete in the simulator.
Max Verstappen’s driving style remains largely unchanged between real and virtual racing. Aggressiveness is his trademark, whether against Lando Norris in Mexico or an opponent in front of a computer. Just a few weeks ago, during the virtual 24 Hours of Daytona, he was involved in an accident in the rain and later received multiple penalties.
“Verstappen, You’re the Same Idiot as Always”
Last weekend, Max Verstappen took part in another virtual event, this time at Road America. In the early stages of the race, a duel with Williams driver Jaden Munoz led to both him and another car spinning out. The Dutchman quickly retaliated—catching up to his opponent and deliberately pushing him off the track.
Jaden Munoz didn’t hold back in a furious outburst: “Look at this idiot, he never changes. What an idiot!” he raged after the first incident.
Following the second crash, his frustration turned into a scathing attack on Verstappen’s career: “I knew it. This is why everything in life is handed to you, Max. You’re a spoiled brat. Without your father, you’d be nothing, you’d be nothing. You’d be a nobody. He’s just a f***ing idiot!”
