The 2025 Williams Academy
Williams has officially unveiled the lineup for its 2025 Driver Academy, aiming to develop new talents for the future and potentially promote them to Formula 1, just as it did last year with Franco Colapinto. The Argentinian driver was called up to replace Logan Sargeant and later moved to Alpine.
The lead driver will be Luke Browning, who will make his full-time debut in Formula 2 this year. The British driver will race for Hitech, the team that introduced him to F3 in 2024. In the entry-level series, Browning secured two Feature Race wins in Bahrain and Austria and earned a seat in F2 for the final three races of the season, scoring points on his debut.
The other drivers
In addition to Browning, seven other drivers will be part of the Academy. Lia Block, a 2006-born American, will continue representing Williams in the F1 Academy, competing for ART Grand Prix. Alessandro Giusti, a 2006-born French driver, has been promoted to F3 with MP Motorsport and is expected to build on his strong performances in the Formula Regional European Championship. Oleksandr Bondarev, born in 2009, will race with Prema in the Italian and UAE F4 championships for the 2025 season.
Rounding out the Williams Academy roster are four karting talents: Sara Matsui (born in 2010, competing in the OK class), Dean Hoogendoorn (born in 2012), Will Green (born in 2013), and Lucas Palacio (born in 2014). The latter three will compete in the OKJ-N class.
