Following the events of 2024, expectations for the upcoming season are undoubtedly high. The 2025 F1 championship has all the makings of one of the most competitive seasons in history, with no clear favorites and Verstappen needing to defend his title despite a Red Bull that was far from stellar.
The Milton Keynes team, after dominating 2023, faced challenges with a car that was difficult to drive, even for the Dutchman himself. This explains their failure to win the constructors’ championship, which saw the resurgence of McLaren and Ferrari.
The two historic teams fought fiercely until the end and aim to do so again in 2025. Especially Ferrari, which, with the addition of Lewis Hamilton, is determined to end its world title drought that has lasted over fifteen years.
Max Verstappen’s Perspective
On the eve of the new F1 season, Max Verstappen sent a message to Red Bull while revealing who he believes could be the favorites in 2025. “We need to work on fixing a few things to improve the car’s drivability,” said the Dutchman. “Other teams won’t just sit back, so I think it’s going to be a very competitive season. But even when you’re not the fastest, you still have to maximize the result.”
“I’m confident that my team doesn’t give up easily. 2024 wasn’t an easy year for us because we were under a lot of pressure. I’m proud of how we managed everything and how every team member gave their all. We must keep pushing in the same direction to achieve our goals,” Max Verstappen added.
