Liam Lawson’s F1 seat at risk in Racing Bulls: Arvid Lindblad in line for promotion. Liam Lawson's F1 future is uncertain as Red Bull considers replacing him with Arvid Lindblad.

Liam Lawson, 2024 F1

Liam Lawson started the 2025 Formula 1 championship on top of the world, racing for Red Bull and fulfilling his childhood dream. However, the team soon realized he wasn’t up to the challenge, and that his negative results couldn’t be explained just by comparing him to Max Verstappen. After only two Grand Prix, Helmut Marko decided to swap him with Yuki Tsunoda, who already seems more comfortable with the Red Bull RB21 car.

Despite now racing for Racing Bulls, a team he is familiar with, and feeling less pressure, the New Zealander has yet to score any points, and his results suffer from the comparison with Isack Hadjar. For this reason, Juan Pablo Montoya wouldn’t be surprised if Arvid Lindblad, Red Bull’s new star prospect, replaced him. “Last year, Liam showed he had the qualities needed to stay in Formula 1, he earned the seat. But if he doesn’t improve throughout the year, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him replaced by Lindblad,” the former driver said to AS. “The situation at Red Bull is very complicated, and it’s affected his confidence; he’ll probably need psychological support. The parent team is already looking elsewhere because that’s how they operate.” – he pointed out.
