The last Saudi Arabian GP proved to be satisfying for Isack Hadjar, who returned to the points zone after his first top-10 finish with eighth place in Japan. This weekend, however, will present an additional challenge for the Racing Bulls driver, beyond just facing a Sprint event, which he already experienced in China.
The first race in Miami
During Free Practice, the Frenchman will complete his first laps ever on another street circuit like Miami, one he has never tackled (except on the simulator), not even in the feeder series of the Circus such as Formula 3 or Formula 2, both of which are also absent this weekend. It is therefore an entirely new experience, both in terms of the track and the country, where Hadjar will set foot for the first time as a driver: “This weekend will be my first race in the United States, which is definitely exciting,” he commented. “It’s going to be an important week for our team and I’ve heard that the atmosphere in Miami is fantastic, so I’m really looking forward to driving on this track, especially since we currently have good pace and I hope this will be another circuit that suits us, with many low-speed corners. The weather will be very hot and I think we’ll have a good chance to perform well.”
Not just Hadjar
Miami will be a first time not only for Isack Hadjar but also for Liam Lawson, who has struggled with results since the beginning of the season and is still looking for his first points finish in this championship: “I’m excited to go to Miami,” said the New Zealander. “Even though I’ve been there as a reserve driver, it’s the first time I’ll actually take to the track for the race. The atmosphere seems really cool and exciting, so it will be a great feeling to race for VCARB. It’s also a Sprint weekend and the heat will be intense, so I’m doing everything I can to prepare, working hard to learn the track. I can’t wait to get out there.”
