Lando Norris Looks Ahead to 2025
They say some trains only come once in a lifetime, and if they have very few seats, getting on becomes even harder. The Formula 1 World Championship can be seen in this way: those who have already won understand this well (just think of Sebastian Vettel’s team radio after his 2013 win in Austin, “Let’s remember these days while they last; there’s no guarantee they’ll last forever”). But those who have yet to win, especially after missing a golden opportunity, understand it even better. Lando Norris certainly falls into the latter category.
The Briton, always highly self-critical, has never hidden the fact that he made too many mistakes, which a “cannibal” like Max Verstappen took full advantage of. For the McLaren driver, the key is to start fresh in 2025 and use the setbacks of 2024 as fuel for motivation.
Lando Norris’s comments
“Last year, the title was within reach,” Norris admitted. “Looking ahead to the next season, I need to improve in certain areas. I have to work on some aspects and come back stronger. Beyond wanting to win the Constructors’ Championship every year, I also want to be selfish and win the Drivers’ Championship. To achieve my dream, you need to have a strong team behind you, and I believe I have exactly that. Last year, I came close. I was always just a bit short, but I could smell the title and felt like I could do it.”
“As a team, I think we want to take a step forward so we can win races more easily when they’re favorable to us, rather than struggling like we did last year,” he added. “During the winter break, the team stayed very focused. The easiest thing to do would have been to relax, but the opposite happened. In the factory, they understood that we want more and worked even harder to try to improve further.” – the McLaren driver concluded.
