The battle for the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship resumes in Brazil — a key weekend with a total of 33 points up for grabs, thanks to the Sprint race scheduled for Saturday. Weather forecasts suggest rain could play a major role, adding extra tension to an already unpredictable weekend at Interlagos.
Lando Norris enters the Brazilian Grand Prix as the new leader of the Drivers’ Championship, holding a narrow one-point advantage over his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri. Despite his new status, the British driver insists that his mindset remains exactly the same. “We’ll see at the end of the year. For now, nothing really changes. I feel the same as before,” Norris said. “Winning always helps you to keep winning, but it’s not like I lacked confidence before. I’ve been driving well and felt good in Singapore and Austin too, but of course, a win gives you that little extra push.”
This time last year, Lando Norris had voiced frustration about what he described as “luck” favoring Max Verstappen after a decisive race that effectively sealed the title. Although he later toned down his comments, the Briton once again acknowledged that fortune can play a part in Brazil, especially when rain is involved. “Every time we race in Brazil, it’s always the same — you just have to be ready for anything,” he explained. “Whether it’s rain, dry, sunny or cold, it doesn’t matter to me. I’m fine with whatever happens, but of course, it’s easier for everyone when it’s dry, and I’d love to repeat a weekend like the one I had in Mexico. When it rains, though, there’s definitely a bit more luck involved.”
As the title fight intensifies, Lando Norris remains focused on consistency rather than the pressure of leading. With changeable weather expected and both McLaren drivers evenly matched, the Brazilian Grand Prix could prove decisive in shaping the outcome of this thrilling 2025 season.
