Lando Norris wants redemption
For Lando Norris, 2024 has been a season of realization. The Brit, after long chasing his first victory, secured it in Miami and then added three more to his tally. Now, he knows he’s a driver who can win races.
“Realization,” however, also means acknowledging the need to improve: the #4 driver has accumulated too many uncertainties along the way to challenge Max Verstappen for the title. The Sprint in Shanghai and the starts in Montmelo, Spa-Francorchamps, and Monza are just some examples of how Norris needs to step up his game to maximize each weekend, just as Max Verstappen—armed with more experience—manages to do.
Lando Norris’ comments
The McLaren driver is, however, confident that he can make the most of his opportunities in the World Championship, which kicks off in Melbourne at the Albert Park circuit in less than two months: “I’m pretty proud of my performances in 2024,” he told the BBC. “I’m proud of doing well even under pressure. I made my mistakes, yes, and at the same time, I learned a lot.” – he pointed out.
“I’m excited to tackle 2025 knowing I’ve learned so much, improved so much, and am ready to fight everyone,” he continued. “Self-confidence is something I’ve struggled with in the past, and probably after this season, I can say I’m a good enough driver to win the championship in 2025. I can fight anyone who wants to battle me for it.” – the McLaren driver concluded.
