Abu Dhabi GP: Hadjar celebrates Red Bull promotion
The 2026 grid was finalized in recent hours with the official announcement of Isack Hadjar’s move to Red Bull, alongside Arvid Lindblad’s promotion from Formula 2 to Racing Bulls. For the French driver, the switch from the Faenza-based team to Milton Keynes marks the culmination of a highly positive rookie season, which he hopes to finish strongly at Abu Dhabi, aiming to maintain a top-10 position now challenged by veterans Nico Hülkenberg and Fernando Alonso.
Hadjar’s words
“I’m really excited,” Isack Hadjar said regarding the official confirmation of his move to Red Bull. “The timing is perfect, as we are entering a new era in terms of regulations, so everything will be new for everyone. In fact, throughout my career, I have never stayed in the same category for more than a year, so I know how to adapt fairly quickly. I have no specific expectations; I will simply have to make the most of January and February to get to know the team members well and try to start in the best possible way.”
“Who will win the title? Lando Norris,” he added when asked about the 2025 Drivers’ Championship. “I don’t have the car to help Max Verstappen this weekend, so I won’t be able to play any role in the title fight.”
A classy, realistic assessment from the soon-to-be Red Bull driver – and another vote of confidence for Lando Norris as the McLaren man stands on the brink of his first world crown.
