F1 Abu Dhabi showdown: Max Verstappen favored for the win, Lando Norris tipped for the title. Bookmakers predict Max Verstappen to win the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, 2024 F1

All motorsport fans will be on the edge of their seats this weekend to see whether Lando Norris, Max Verstappen, or Oscar Piastri will be crowned the 2025 Formula 1 World Champion. The final race of the season at the Abu Dhabi circuit will deliver the definitive verdict of a year full of twists, surprises, and dramatic moments, especially in the second half of the championship.

The 12-point advantage that Lando Norris holds over Max Verstappen, and the 16-point lead over his teammate Oscar Piastri, makes the English driver the clear favorite to clinch the World Championship. Bookmakers have priced the #4 McLaren driver’s title win at 1.33. However, Verstappen’s odds remain relatively low given his position in the standings, with the Dutch champion’s bid for a fifth consecutive title quoted at 3.50. Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, faces a challenging scenario, needing a series of favorable results to claim his first career championship. A sensational triumph for the Australian would pay out 13 times the stake.

Race predictions

In terms of race day, bookmakers consider Max Verstappen the favorite to take victory at Abu Dhabi. The Dutch driver’s odds are the lowest at 3.30, followed closely by Lando Norris at 3.75 and Oscar Piastri at 4.50. The main candidates for an upset are George Russell and Kimi Antonelli, with odds for a win set at 9 and 13 respectively. Much less likely is the first victory of the season for Charles Leclerc, with bookmakers offering 23 to 1.

This weekend promises an exciting finale where race pace and strategic decisions will be decisive. While Verstappen is expected to fight for the win in Abu Dhabi, Lando Norris’s consistent season performance keeps him firmly in the driver’s seat to secure the 2025 championship. Fans can expect high drama, with multiple scenarios still mathematically possible for the three title contenders.

Whatever your prediction, one thing is certain: Sunday night will crown a new name on the trophy – or see Max Verstappen pull off one of the greatest comebacks in F1 history.
