How Oscar Piastri aims to bounce back at the F1 Singapore GP 2025. Oscar Piastri looks to bounce back at the Singapore GP 2025.

Singapore GP 2025, Piastri ready to assert his dominance

After the setback in Baku, Oscar Piastri is determined to redeem himself at Singapore. The championship leader aims to close out a perfect season by bringing McLaren back to world championship glory.

Piastri’s first error of the season

In what many have described as a “perfect” season, Oscar Piastri experienced his first small mistake – one he himself acknowledged in post-session interviews – which forced him to retire and cost him a heavy zero, allowing teammate Lando Norris to close the gap in the standings.

Born in 2001, the Australian showed his human side by making a mistake that, over a long 24-race season, is understandable. The Baku incident, however, should not overshadow what has been an otherwise outstanding season.

Ready to reaffirm his dominance

As he has proven consistently over the past three years, Piastri has taken the error in stride and is eager to hit the track again to reaffirm his supremacy over his teammate. Singapore’s circuit, with characteristics that favor the McLaren, provides the perfect opportunity for him to redeem himself and collect the maximum points for the team. McLaren can clinch the Constructors’ Championship by scoring at least 13 points – a podium would be sufficient – as long as Mercedes does not achieve the near-impossible task of gaining 31 points more.

Learning from mistakes

Piastri commented on his approach to errors: “I have no intention of repeating the mistake I made in Baku,” said the championship leader. After all, 25 points are by no means an insurmountable obstacle. Just a few races can erase the advantage painstakingly built over 17 events.

He continued, “Mistakes are part of the journey. I’m human, so they can happen. Of course, I don’t want them to happen again. The most important thing is to move forward and learn from them. It doesn’t matter if it’s a false start, a missed apex, or a lock-up. What counts is how you learn from mistakes and keep going. I think I managed that during this week off.”
