Norris spares no expense for celebrations: the cost of the night
Lando Norris released all the tension of a year of racing and chasing after crossing the finish line at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The British driver had started the season as a favorite for the World Championship, only to see his teammate Oscar Piastri pull ahead. From Zandvoort onward, however, he began his comeback, point by point, victory after victory, ultimately achieving every driver’s dream: becoming a Formula 1 World Champion.
The celebrations begin
After the interviews and the customary photo sessions, the long-awaited celebration finally began. According to The Sun, Lando Norris invited everyone to drink at the Amber Lounge, the club that hosts F1’s most glamorous events. The location was top-tier but a backup option, as their first-choice “caviar bar” had kicked them out for being past hours: the first guests arrived at 9:00 PM, but the driver was free from his obligations only by 1:00 AM.
A night to remember
The minor setback didn’t dampen spirits, as the music played all night, and videos of the Englishman singing “We are the champions” went viral worldwide. “A hangover worth a lifetime of work,” he wrote on social media. Norris didn’t hold back on his fun, and the bill for the evening reportedly reached around £100,000, roughly €114,000. A small amount considering his annual contract of around £20 million, not including bonuses for winning the title.
Yes, the bank balance might be a few zeroes lighter, but memories like these? Priceless – even if a couple of hours of the night itself are probably a little blurry.
