Gasly and his special feeling with Brazil
Pierre Gasly was perhaps too overlooked last weekend, despite delivering an impressively strong overall performance. The Enstone team also made a surprisingly positive impact, with the Alpine adapting far better than expected to the fast and flowing corners of the José Carlos Pace circuit. The ninth place in Saturday’s Q3 session was the clearest proof of that unexpected pace over a single lap.
The French driver then managed to bring home points in both the Sprint race (8th) and the main Grand Prix (10th), securing two valuable points for the team. Alpine still sits last in the standings with 22 points — all of them scored by Pierre Gasly — but this result at least gives the squad a small morale boost heading into the final triple-header of Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, which will officially close the 2025 season and the current technical cycle.
Pierre Gasly also confirmed once again his excellent feeling with the home circuit of his idol Ayrton Senna. In 2019, he scored his first-ever Formula 1 podium at Interlagos with Toro Rosso, beating Lewis Hamilton across the line in a thrilling photo finish. And last season, he returned to the podium here with Alpine, delivering a dream Sunday for the French team, which also celebrated Esteban Ocon’s second place.
