Haas has confirmed that its Godzilla-themed Formula 1 livery will return at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, bringing back the special design first used at this year’s Japanese Grand Prix. The American team will once again join forces with Japanese entertainment studio TOHO as part of a campaign promoting the upcoming Godzilla film.
The special livery will be unveiled online on Monday, October 19 ahead of the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas. The Godzilla theme will also extend beyond the cars, with Esteban Ocon, Ollie Bearman and F1 Academy driver Kaylee Countryman set to wear special race suits as part of the activation.
Haas brings Godzilla livery back for Austin
Godzilla is returning to Formula 1, once again appearing on the Haas cars. The team has officially confirmed that it will race with the same special theme seen at the Japanese Grand Prix earlier this season when Formula 1 heads to Austin.
The renewed partnership between Haas and TOHO will form part of the build-up to the release of the new film Godzilla Minus Zero, which is scheduled to arrive in the United States on November 6.
For fans following the event, the 2026 United States Grand Prix schedule and COTA guide provides the full Austin weekend timetable and circuit information.
Special reveal planned in Austin
Haas will reveal the livery online on October 19, while an exclusive fan event at Domain NORTHSIDE in Austin will also host a live presentation of the campaign.
Team principal Ayao Komatsu is expected to attend alongside Esteban Ocon, Ollie Bearman, Jack Doohan and Kaylee Countryman.
The project gives Haas another opportunity to expand the Godzilla collaboration beyond a conventional Formula 1 sponsorship campaign and connect the team with audiences outside motorsport.
Ayao Komatsu proud of second Godzilla collaboration
Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu highlighted the significance of running a second livery linked to the same partnership.
“We are breaking new ground in Formula 1 by presenting a second livery connected to this collaboration, and it is something we are very proud of.
“It gives us another opportunity to provide the kind of content our fans want to see and to create something capable of connecting Formula 1 with a new audience.
“Godzilla is an iconic character, and seeing this partnership come to life again in the United States will be something really special for the team and our fans.”
TOHO builds on Japanese GP response
TOHO also sees the Austin activation as a continuation of the reaction generated by the first collaboration at the Japanese Grand Prix.
“We are deeply honoured to collaborate once again with TGR Haas F1 Team for a special joint initiative this autumn, following the success of our collaboration at the Japanese Grand Prix in March,” said Keiji Ota, director, senior managing executive officer and CGO – Chief Godzilla Officer – at TOHO.
Ota said the previous partnership created a strong connection between a Formula 1 team competing at the highest level of motorsport and one of the world’s most recognisable entertainment characters.
“At the previous Japanese Grand Prix, the powerful synergy between a team that continues to push the limits at the highest level of world motorsport and Godzilla, a character that continues to fascinate fans around the world, generated an extraordinary response.
“As we approach the final phase of the season and the competition becomes increasingly intense, our partnership promises to bring a new level of excitement to the United States Grand Prix in October.”
Godzilla Minus Zero release adds to US campaign
The United States Grand Prix activation will also provide a major promotional platform ahead of the release of Godzilla Minus Zero in November.
“With the release of the new film Godzilla Minus Zero scheduled for November, we invite everyone to follow this dynamic collaboration with excitement between Godzilla, who is becoming increasingly prominent on the global stage, and a team that continues to break barriers.”
After its first appearance in Japan, Haas’ second Godzilla-themed weekend will therefore combine a special livery, driver race suits and a dedicated fan event as the partnership moves to Austin for one of Formula 1’s biggest events in the United States.
