Jerry Bruckheimer, a producer of the F1 movie *APEX*, spoke about Lewis Hamilton’s role in the project. The British driver has been a crucial figure in shaping the film’s authenticity, although his input has occasionally made things challenging for the directors.
During the Mexican Grand Prix, Brad Pitt and other cast members returned to the track to film some scenes, even engaging with the fans in the stands. These sessions marked the final track appearances for the production team, as the film is slated for release to the public in June 2025. However, the drivers on the F1 grid will get a sneak peek during the Monaco GP weekend.
Among the F1 personalities, Lewis Hamilton has played a particularly significant role in the project. The film’s producer acknowledged the value of his contributions, as he has worked to ensure the end product feels as authentic as possible.
“Lewis has seen parts of the film and provided feedback on how drivers actually do things. For instance, at Silverstone’s Turn 3, drivers use second gear, and he could tell just by listening that we had them in third gear,” said Jerry Bruckheimer.
Lewis Hamilton also helped highlight the physical toll on drivers. “When a race ends, especially in hot conditions like Singapore, they can barely get out of the car. They’re completely exhausted,” he explained.
However, like real F1 teams, the film production operates within a budget, and working alongside Lewis Hamilton has presented financial challenges. “Sometimes we don’t like hearing some of the things he says because fixing them costs us more money. But we all want this to be a great success, and he is definitely helping us achieve that.”
