F1 Secret Santa 2025: the funniest gifts and hilarious reactions from the drivers

The most anticipated post-season event for Formula 1 fans has returned: Secret Santa. With bizarre gifts, witty jabs, and hilarious attempts to guess the gift givers, the twenty drivers on the grid participated in one last festive challenge before the holidays. Let’s explore all the gifts and the funniest reactions from this year’s Christmas exchange.

Alex Albon’s reaction

The Thai driver was the first to open his secret gift, discovering a cookbook featuring traditional Spanish dishes. The connection with Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz was immediate, and Albon quickly realized that the gift came from #14. A thoughtful present that was very much appreciated, with the Williams driver showing no hesitation in expressing his love for paella.

Fernando Alonso’s reaction

Alonso’s gift brought laughter to all: he received a walking stick to assist him during future strolls around the paddock! The hilarity continued as Alonso, with the help of the interviewer, understood that the gift came from Nico Hulkenberg. Alonso jokingly addressed Hulkenberg: “We’ll meet again in Monaco one day and I promise I will use this stick. We’ll do it, but not today! (laughs)”

Nico Hulkenberg’s reaction

The Sauber driver received a jersey from a German football team, immediately recognizing that George Russell was the gift giver. The present was greatly appreciated, and Hulkenberg thanked his colleague for the thoughtful gesture.

George Russell’s reaction

Russell received a gift destined to become one of the most hilarious memes: a photo of Charles Leclerc overtaking him during the Dutch Grand Prix. Clearly, the gift came from Leclerc himself, who wanted to joke about the moment.

Charles Leclerc’s reaction

The Monegasque driver received a book titled “How to Be a Good Husband,” filled with advice as he prepares for his upcoming wedding with fiancée Alexandra Saint Mleux. The thoughtful gift came from his friend and teammate Pierre Gasly, who Leclerc thanked warmly for the precise choice.

Pierre Gasly’s reaction

The French driver received a pair of socks and a hat suitable for tennis matches, along with a gift for his dog Simba. The giver was Kimi Antonelli, who Gasly thanked in both English and Italian for thinking of his four-legged friend as well.

Kimi Antonelli’s reaction

Mercedes’ driver received the perfect gift: a buildable Lego model of Ayrton Senna. Known to all colleagues as Antonelli’s idol, the gift was from reigning world champion Lando Norris, who also gave him a pillow featuring a miniature version of Kimi.

Lando Norris’ reaction

The British driver received three gifts, including two autographed photos. Alex Albon was the sender, also gifting a book with useful information about Thailand. Norris joked about the gesture, calling the posters “the nicest and most suitable to hang in his room.”

Carlos Sainz’s reaction

The Spanish driver also received three packages: wristbands and a headband in the colors of Spain, and a comb to tame his thick hair. The playful gift came from Isack Hadjar, whom Sainz thanked, calling him a “good guy.”

Isack Hadjar and Liam Lawson’s reaction

Hadjar received an alarm clock from his now former teammate. Meanwhile, Liam Lawson found a social media guidebook and a video creation tool, as he is not very familiar with TikTok. The sender was Ollie Bearman, to whom Lawson promised he would become more social.

Ollie Bearman’s reaction

Bearman received a black T-shirt featuring an angry teddy bear wearing the colors of Argentina. The gift came from Franco Colapinto, whom Bearman thanked for the thoughtful present.

Franco Colapinto and Yuki Tsunoda’s reaction

Colapinto received a Funko Pop of Yuki Tsunoda, a gesture he greatly appreciated for being cute and original. Tsunoda, in turn, received a ping pong set from Gabriel Bortoleto, promising a future match.

Gabriel Bortoleto and Esteban Ocon’s reaction

Gabriel Bortoleto received a cookbook, although he is not a big reader. Laughing, he thanked Ocon, the gift giver, saying, “I will read it even if I don’t usually enjoy books (laughs).” Ocon then received a Spider-Man toy, the French driver’s favorite superhero, from Oscar Piastri, who successfully surprised his colleague.

Oscar Piastri and Lance Stroll’s reaction

Oscar Piastri received socks to wear during his padel matches, gifted by Lance Stroll. The Canadian, in turn, received padel rackets from Carlos Sainz.
