The new Formula 1 season is approaching, and all teams are hitting the track to ensure they are fully prepared. Following Ferrari, Williams, and McLaren, it is now the turn of Aston Martin, which completed laps in Barcelona with Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso to best prepare for 2025. Below are all the photos from the session.
The “Green Machine” from Silverstone aims to return to the top, where it stood for the entire 2020 season under the Racing Point name and again in 2023. Two years ago, during Red Bull’s total dominance with Max Verstappen, Fernando Alonso repeatedly managed to finish ahead of Sergio Perez and, on rare occasions, even challenge the Dutchman’s lead.
A clear example of this was the 2023 Monaco Grand Prix qualifying session. The two-time world champion came within a whisker of securing pole position, which would have given him a prime opportunity to claim his 33rd career victory.
On the other side of the garage is Lance Stroll. As has been the case for years now, the Canadian driver remains significantly behind his now 44-year-old teammate. A major opportunity for the Silverstone-based team could come in 2026, when legendary British engineer Adrian Newey officially joins, and the cars will also be equipped with Honda power units.
In these final weeks before the official return to the track, scheduled for February 26-28 with pre-season testing in Bahrain, Aston Martin took to the track in Barcelona to help both drivers regain their rhythm. According to FIA regulations, all teams are allowed 1,000 km of testing with cars that are at least two seasons old.
Below are all the photos published late last night, February 11, on Aston Martin’s official X account, capturing the two drivers in action on track.
