Between rain, breathtaking overtakes, and packed grandstands, the Interlagos circuit is ready to host another thrilling round of the 2025 Formula 1 season. The São Paulo Grand Prix, the penultimate event of the year with a sprint format, promises excitement as drivers prepare to give their all on one of the most iconic tracks of the calendar.
Last year, the team enjoyed a memorable weekend with a double podium achieved by Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon in wet conditions, a race that highlighted both talent and determination.
Words from the drivers ahead of the Brazilian GP
Pierre Gasly openly expressed his excitement about returning to a circuit that has played a significant role in his career:
“The team is looking forward to returning to São Paulo for this weekend’s race in Brazil. Racing at Interlagos brings back special memories, both for the team and for me, as this is where I achieved my first F1 podium in 2019, not to mention our outstanding result last year. The track is legendary, and the grandstands are always packed with passionate fans. They love Formula 1 and are present no matter the weather, creating an incredible atmosphere that I can’t wait to experience again. It is one of the shortest circuits of the year, so gaps between cars are minimal. Additionally, this is the penultimate sprint of the season, making the weekend even more intense. Anything can happen here, and we will keep a close eye on the weather while giving our best on the final straight of the calendar.”
The South American call for Colapinto
Franco Colapinto is also preparing enthusiastically for his return to South America, where the support of Argentine fans will be an extra boost:
“It’s always a pleasure to return to South America. After discovering this event a year ago, I can’t wait to be back on track in front of all the fans, especially with so many Argentinians cheering for me. Last year’s race left me with mixed emotions, but the Interlagos circuit is a truly special place with its rich history and unique aura. Last year with Alpine we saw that anything can happen here, so we’ll do our best to be ready to seize every opportunity that comes our way, particularly because it’s a sprint weekend with even more action. This season hasn’t been easy, but we remain focused and determined to give our best this weekend.”
