In recent days, as the Formula 1 circus prepares for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in Baku, more significant rumors have emerged regarding the 2026 driver market. One name that has captured attention is Arvid Lindblad, the current Campos F2 driver, who appears to be on the verge of moving up to F1, also thanks to his connection with Red Bull.
Currently competing in the F2 championship, Lindblad sits in seventh place, just behind his teammate Pepe Martì, with a total of 101 points. Over the season, he has secured two victories, but he left Monza disappointed after a costly mistake in turn 1 ended his race prematurely.
Looking ahead, the young English driver seems close to signing a contract with Racing Bulls. Max Verstappen’s teammate is expected to be Ayumu Hadjar, while Lindblad would pair with Liam Lawson, seemingly closing the door on Yuki Tsunoda, who will now need to look for alternative seats.
Ahead of the Baku weekend, Lindblad spoke to the media, including F1inGenerale, about his current situation: fully focused on the F2 championship while surrounded by F1 rumors. “Can I stay focused with all this talk about me? Well, I’m aware of it, but I don’t try to completely isolate myself. I’m not paranoid, but I also don’t fixate on the rumors circulating,” he explained.
“I try to stay focused on the present and the work needed for the weekend. It’s true, Monza wasn’t a good weekend; I made several mistakes, but one race doesn’t define a career. I try to block out the external noise,” Lindblad added, “to remain focused on what really matters right now.”
