Esteban Ocon like you’ve never seen him before: the Haas driver appeared in a trailer for an upcoming Netflix movie. It looks like a photomontage, but it isn’t. The former Alpine driver is part of the cast of a French comedy, which will be released in the coming days on the streaming platform.
The film is titled *Luna di Miele con Mamma*, and it will also be available on Netflix Italy starting February 12, 2025. In the cast, and in the short trailer, Esteban Ocon is clearly visible. The plot centers around a young man who, after being left at the altar by his fiancée who has reunited with her ex, is forced to go on his romantic honeymoon with his mother.
As far as we know, the Haas driver is only expected to have a cameo. A “small” consolation for Formula 1 fans awaiting the new season of *Drive to Survive*, which will analyze the behind-the-scenes of the past season.
In the past, the Netflix docuseries has often been criticized by the drivers themselves. Among them was Esteban Ocon, who had complained about how some of them are portrayed as “villains” or “antagonists,” not reflecting the reality of the situation.
“I don’t think it reflects reality,” he said in a 2023 interview. “I always find it strange, for example, that when I finished eighth in France, I say ‘this is like a victory.’ I’d probably say that when I finished fifth in Austria or fourth in Japan… but not when I finish eighth in France. It’s strange, but I think it’s part of the show.”
As a protest, Max Verstappen refused to appear in the third season of *Drive to Survive*, only to return in the following one after clarifying things with Netflix’s production.
