While waiting to organize a meeting in the coming months with Jurgen Klopp, the new head of the football department for the Red Bull family – as promised by Formula 1 team consultant Helmut Marko – Max Verstappen, who is a big football fan and a known supporter of PSV Eindhoven, ‘consoled’ himself by meeting Manchester City striker Erling Haaland, currently considered one of the strongest footballers in the world.

The photo of the unusual pair of super-champions was posted by the Dutchman himself on his Instagram profile. The picture of the two stars immediately went viral on social media and was also shared by the official Formula 1 channel. For Max Verstappen, these are the last days of relaxation off-track, before returning to the wheel to start the 2025 Formula 1 season with pre-season testing. The #1 from Hasselt will be chasing his fifth consecutive world title this year, a feat achieved in history only by Michael Schumacher.
Erling Haaland, on the other hand, is going through a more difficult period: his Manchester City is in a results crisis and has just suffered a stunning 5-1 defeat at Arsenal. The only goal for Pep Guardiola’s team was scored by the Norwegian striker, who is currently in second place in the league’s top scorers list, behind Mohamed Salah.
