Haas takes the track today, Ferrari tomorrow
The first day of Pirelli testing this week at the Autodromo del Mugello involved the collaboration of Haas and Scuderia Ferrari. The program is focused on evaluating the hardest compounds in the 2026 tyre range.
Haas drivers lead the first day
Today, the two official drivers of the American team, Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, took turns behind the wheel of a mule car derived from the VF-24, adapted to accommodate the 2026 tyres. The French driver, Esteban Ocon, completed a total of 40 laps, recording the fastest lap time of 1’21”943. Highly variable weather conditions made the work of the engineers more challenging, as rain appeared late in the morning. However, it offered a valuable opportunity to test intermediate tyre solutions that will be available in 2026 on a demanding circuit like Mugello. With these intermediate tyres, Oliver Bearman completed 30 laps, with a best lap time of 1’34”381.
Ferrari to continue testing tomorrow
The Mugello testing program will continue tomorrow, when two Scuderia Ferrari drivers, Guanyu Zhou and Charles Leclerc, will alternate behind the wheel of a mule car derived from the SF-25. These sessions will provide Pirelli with further data on the performance and behaviour of the upcoming 2026 tyre compounds under different track conditions.
