Turnaround at Williams: Atlassian is becomes new F1 title partner. Williams has reached a multi-year agreement with the Australian company.

Williams

Recently, rumors and speculations circulated about a potential deal between Williams and Atlassian, the Australian global leader in software development. The latter, more than just a ‘simple’ sponsor, would become the title partner of the Grove team, and the partnership between the two entities was officially confirmed just minutes ago by the team founded by Frank Williams: starting this season, the team will indeed take on the name of Atlassian Williams Racing, with the multi-year agreement also including Atlassian as the official technology partner and Official Collaboration Software partner.

For the second most successful team in F1 history, a new and prosperous collaboration is born, just as the team embarks on a growth project aimed at improving competitiveness, which includes the arrival of Carlos Sainz, making his debut at Grove after his experience with Ferrari. He has also contributed to other agreements with new and important sponsors like Santander: “I’m pleased to welcome Atlassian to Formula 1 and to our evolution into Atlassian Williams Racing,” said Team Principal James Vowles. “Attracting a title partnership of this magnitude and importance is a significant day in the illustrious history of our team and a key milestone in our comeback transformation. We’re putting in place all the right ingredients to bring this team back to the front of the grid, and with Atlassian, we have a partner that, through its technology and tools, will help us unlock our full potential by improving teamwork and collaboration throughout the organization. Our values and ambition align perfectly, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together.”

Beyond the title partnership, Atlassian’s logo will also appear on the two FW47 cars of Carlos Sainz and Alex Albon, as well as at the team’s pit stops: “Formula 1 is the ultimate team sport,” added Mike Cannon-Brookes, CEO of Atlassian. “It’s where engineers, developers, commercial teams, pit crews, and countless others work together in real time at incredible speeds to race for a podium. Atlassian shares Williams’ deep belief in the power of teamwork. We know that when great teams have the right tools and practices, they can achieve goals that would be impossible to reach alone. As one of the first global tech companies to come from Australia, we know what it means to have passion, determination, and the conviction to build something great. This team has undergone an extraordinary transformation, and I believe Atlassian Williams Racing has all the foundations for a renewed era of greatness.”
