McLaren team principal Zak Brown commented on McLaren’s third consecutive one-two finish, achieved after their victories in Austria and Great Britain, with another dominant result at the Belgian Grand Prix where Oscar Piastri finished ahead of Lando Norris.
The Australian driver now holds a 16-point lead over his British teammate in the drivers’ championship, while McLaren boasts nearly a 300-point advantage over Ferrari in the constructors’ standings.
Zak Brown reflected on another triumphant Sunday, saying to Sky Sports, “I really wanted to win here at Spa; it’s a great classic circuit. A tattoo to celebrate the world title? No, tattoos hurt—I’ve already got plenty. Better to get a poster instead.”
“At the start, both Piastri and Norris had some battery issues that seemed to affect their cars, but afterward everything went well. Today, the driver starting second managed to take the lead, which here seems to work like in NASCAR, where you want the slipstream. Piastri and Norris will give us many exciting moments. They’re free to battle as long as they stay within track limits. In Austria, they gave us a few scares, but they respect each other a lot, and I’m sure there will be a lot of fun ahead.”
