Lando Norris finished second at the Belgian Grand Prix, a result that leaves him only partially satisfied as he now looks ahead to the next race. The McLaren driver crossed the finish line in second place at the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix. Although he started from pole position, the British driver had a challenging race delayed by over an hour due to difficult weather conditions. Early in the race, he was quickly overtaken by his McLaren teammate, Oscar Piastri, who skillfully took the lead and went on to win, extending his lead in the drivers’ championship.
Despite the setback, Lando Norris remains humble. Speaking to Formula 1 microphones after the race, the #4 driver said: “Oscar did an excellent job, and I can’t say anything else. He got ahead with a bit more determination,” he explained. “He used the slipstream perfectly, so I have nothing to complain about. He did a better job than me at the start, and after that, I couldn’t do anything. I would have loved to get on the top step of the podium, but today Oscar deserved it.”
When asked whether a different strategy, such as a later pit stop, could have changed the outcome, Norris shrugged off the idea: “There’s no point in talking about it. Oscar deserved it. We made quite a few mistakes. Even if I had driven perfectly, I couldn’t have won. It’s nice to bring this result back to the team — a great one-two here after many years. In the end, it was a deserved result for the team and for Oscar as well.”
Now Lando Norris looks forward to the Hungarian Grand Prix, a track he loves. “Yes, it’s one of the best circuits for me, also because of what I’ve done there in the past. It’s also where I started my Formula 1 career. I have good memories there. I think it suits me better than Spa. I’m happy with today, a little disappointed, but I’m looking forward to next week.”
