Yuki Tsunoda aims to secure Red Bull seat amid market speculation
Among the rookies who debuted in Formula 1 this year, Isack Hadjar has certainly been one of the standout performers. Finishing ninth in the overall standings, just behind Enzo Antonelli in the Mercedes, he has shown that he is capable of aiming for higher positions in the next season. There was even curiosity about how Isack Hadjar would perform alongside Max Verstappen in 2025, but Red Bull, unusually, decided to give the French driver time to gain experience without the pressure of immediate comparison.
Yuki Tsunoda’s move to Milton Keynes now appears almost inevitable, with only the official announcement pending. This situation places the Japanese driver firmly in the spotlight, not only within Red Bull but potentially within the broader F1 paddock. As highlighted in recent reports (see market updates), it seems highly unlikely that VCARB could bring Tsunoda back, especially now that Honda is no longer an official partner.
Tsunoda addresses market rumors: “All teams now have clear plans”
Speaking to the media in Baku, Yuki Tsunoda said he is largely unaware of the current speculation about his potential exclusion from Formula 1. In fact, he revealed that he is deliberately ignoring market rumors and focusing solely on racing. According to the Japanese driver, “I don’t even know what you’re talking about. I prefer to concentrate on myself. The exact same rumors circulated last year. Rumors are just rumors. Facts matter. I will continue to push and believe in myself regardless.”
He emphasized that, for drivers, the priority is competing in Formula 1. Yuki Tsunoda stated, “My focus is on securing a seat, and that is my main objective.” He added that when observing other teams, it is clear that most have already made their decisions or have a clear plan in place. For him, the goal is to ensure his place at Red Bull, the team where he is currently racing.
When asked about potential discussions with other teams, Yuki Tsunoda clarified, “It is not my responsibility to negotiate with other teams; my management takes care of that. I prefer to stay focused on myself, on driving, and on making progress on track. I leave those matters to my entourage.”
Despite the ongoing market chatter, Yuki Tsunoda remains focused on his performance, demonstrating determination and patience as he works to secure his future in Formula 1, particularly at Red Bull for the 2025 season.
