From the Azerbaijan podium to 2023 memories
Carlos Sainz comes off a fantastic weekend in Baku, where he secured a third-place finish and brought Williams back to the podium for the first time in four years. Now, Formula 1 moves to Singapore, the scene of another epic moment for the Spanish driver: his 2023 victory with Ferrari, which was the only race that season not won by Red Bull.
“Baku was an incredible weekend for us,” Carlos Sainz said. “It was amazing to be back on the podium, and we all celebrated together. But Baku is now in the past, and we are already focusing on what lies ahead. Singapore is always one of the toughest races of the year, both physically and mentally, but it is also one of the most rewarding when everything goes right. I also have fantastic memories of this place. I can’t wait to get back behind the wheel and keep pushing to build momentum for the remaining races of the season.”
Albon plays at home
Singapore is a special event for Alex Albon: the Thai driver treats this round as his home Grand Prix. “The team achieved a great result in Baku,” said the former Red Bull driver. “We hope to continue improving these results in the final phase of the season. I can’t wait to race in Singapore, because for me it always feels like a home race, and it will be fantastic to greet the fans and compete under the lights. Singapore is a very different circuit compared to Baku: it is narrow and physically demanding due to the heat and humidity, so acclimating quickly and finding the right rhythm is a priority. Our goal will be to give our best in qualifying and put ourselves in the best possible position for the race,” he explained.
