Bahrain leaves a bitter taste
After winning the Japanese Grand Prix, Red Bull was certainly expecting a better performance than what was seen this weekend in Bahrain. Max Verstappen was never competitive, neither in qualifying nor in the race, and he maximized the potential of an RB21 clearly far from what he would want, finishing in sixth place.
Helmut Marko is worried
Speaking to Sky Germany, Helmut Marko did not hide Red Bull’s troubles: “Our car is unbalanced and we don’t know where the problem lies. I believe it’s mainly the aerodynamics. Also, our Friday free practice sessions always go badly—in short, we need to change a lot of things.” – he pointed out.
Helmut Marko pointed to the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix weekend, which is set to take place in mid-May at the Imola circuit as a potential turning point: “In the short term, we can’t do anything, but we hope that when we get to Europe we’ll be able to make progress. With this kind of performance, the championship is out of reach. We need to give Max a car with a foundation that allows him to fight for the world title.” – the Red Bull advisor concluded at the end of the Bahrain Grand Prix.
