Reflecting on the Brazilian Grand Prix, where Max Verstappen started from the pit lane yet still managed to reach the podium, Marko acknowledged the challenges: “Obviously, we are not happy to be behind, but the positive aspect is that during the season we have been able to turn situations around, suddenly re-entering the title fight.”
The Austrian advisor also discussed the characteristics of the upcoming circuits: “Assessing the ideal balance for the final three tracks is not easy. The days when a particular circuit strongly favored one car are over. If we find the right setup, we can compete at McLaren’s level. Las Vegas should theoretically suit us with its high-speed sections, while Qatar and Abu Dhabi might favor others, but these assessments no longer carry the same weight.”
Despite the challenges, the team remains optimistic. The car’s evolution throughout the season has allowed Max Verstappen to rejoin the championship battle, creating the possibility of unpredictable outcomes in the final three rounds. Success will require a combination of perfection from Verstappen and unforeseen setbacks for Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion to the 2025 season.
