New Year, New Home
2025 will begin with a major change for the Racing Bulls staff working in England. The Faenza team—which also operates facilities in the UK like most other teams on the grid—has completed the move from its old factory in Bicester to a new headquarters within the Red Bull campus in Milton Keynes. Racing Bulls began the relocation in the final months of 2024 with the goal of being fully operational at the Red Bull Technology Campus by early January. The two locations are approximately 70 km apart.
In an interview with PlanetF1.com, Racing Bulls CEO Peter Bayer highlighted how this move would allow the team’s employees to work in significantly improved conditions across all aspects. “The Milton Keynes offices are ready,” Peter Bayer stated. “The plan was to have everything set up during the shutdown to complete the move and be operational from January 2, so as not to lose any time in terms of development, wind tunnel work, and more.” Before the relocation, the team had its aerodynamics department and part of the design office in Bicester. Now, the synergy with Red Bull’s facilities will be total, having already started using the Milton Keynes wind tunnel in 2022.
A Much More Attractive Facility
“There will be no wasted time, and this is a breakthrough because it’s a state-of-the-art facility,” the CEO added. “The Bicester site is still, more or less, the old Reynard factory. We added a few new desks and some carpeting, but that’s about it. There’s no parking, no cafeteria, and no nearby supermarket for food. The gym is small and outdated. It’s no longer up to modern standards and is actually too small for us.”
The new facilities could also help Racing Bulls attract more skilled and qualified personnel. “A nice office doesn’t directly improve lap times, but it immediately makes us a more attractive employer,” Peter Bayer concluded. “In Milton Keynes, we’ll have a great cafeteria. For now, we won’t have a gym, but we’ve arranged a contract with a local gym where our staff can go until ours is ready. Everything will be cutting-edge, and we’re investing in new CFD facilities. This could—and should—give us an extra boost for 2025.”
