Behind Mercedes‘ dominance and Ferrari‘s remarkable resurgence, another Formula 1 team has quietly become one of the biggest success stories of the season: Racing Bulls.
The Faenza-based squad has made significant progress since the opening rounds of the championship. Since the Canadian Grand Prix, the team has consistently been fighting inside the top ten, while every race since Monaco has produced double points finishes. Much of that improvement can be traced back to the upgrade package introduced during the Montreal weekend, which has proved highly effective for Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad.
Their strong performances have helped Racing Bulls climb the Constructors’ Championship standings, leaving the team just one point behind Alpine, which currently occupies fifth place.
Lawson and Lindblad full of confidence
“It was a fantastic result for the whole team,” an enthusiastic Liam Lawson said. “We got off to a strong start and had excellent race pace. The upgrades we introduced in Canada, which we first evaluated in Barcelona in terms of high-speed balance, continue to deliver positive results weekend after weekend. I’m incredibly proud of the work everyone has done. Scoring points with both cars is an outstanding achievement. We’ve got some challenging circuits coming up, but hopefully we can maintain this positive momentum.”
The celebrations were equally meaningful for rookie Arvid Lindblad, who finished seventh in his first home Grand Prix.
“I’m really happy to have scored points here in front of my home crowd. That made the whole weekend even more special.”
“We got off to a good start, but after a wheel-to-wheel battle with Max at Turn 3, I experienced some issues with the hybrid deployment, which prevented me from defending my position. That was a little frustrating, but it’s still a fantastic result for the team. Ever since we introduced the upgrade package in Canada, the car has improved enormously. The team deserves huge credit,” the British driver concluded.
Alan Permane praises the entire team
“Another almost perfect weekend for us,” said Racing Bulls team principal Alan Permane. “Congratulations to both drivers and to everyone in the team. The strategy was flawless, the pace was excellent, and we did a great job of putting ourselves in a position to maximise every opportunity that came our way on track. Everyone is performing at an incredibly high level, from the drivers and trackside personnel to our two outstanding factories in Milton Keynes and Faenza.”
“It’s rewarding to see all that hard work paying off. We’ve just come through four demanding races, with two more remaining before the summer break, and we’re looking forward to repeating this success at Spa,” he concluded.
With two Grands Prix still to go before the championship reaches its halfway point, Racing Bulls have every reason to believe they could head into the summer break as the leaders of Formula 1’s fiercely contested midfield battle.
