Two weeks after the Brazilian Grand Prix, Alpine approaches the penultimate races of the season in Las Vegas with Pierre Gasly having scored a double points finish, placing in the top ten both in the Sprint and the Sunday race. This achievement marked a first for the French driver in a challenging season for both him and the team, which has collected a total of just 22 points so far thanks solely to the performances of the former Red Bull driver.
A year after qualifying third
Pierre Gasly will return this weekend to the Las Vegas Strip Circuit, where last year he secured a surprising third-place qualification. This gives him extra motivation for the final races of the championship. Pierre Gasly commented, “I left São Paulo relatively satisfied with the two points we earned – it was a positive weekend for us in terms of pace, and I am happy to have been competitive in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. Even though it didn’t impact our current standing, I think we could have qualified even higher if things had gone our way and we were fighting for more points. Las Vegas is one of those circuits where we will learn and aim to make improvements for the final triple-header of the season. Returning to the vibrant city of Las Vegas is exciting. The Las Vegas Strip Circuit is an interesting track where I feel comfortable. It’s still fantastic to race along the famous Strip and past key landmarks like the Venetian Resort, one of our team partners. I am excited to go back and, hopefully, improve on our performance from Brazil. Later race starts and colder temperatures make the event an interesting challenge, and I am looking forward to tackling it as we kick off the last stage of the season.” – the French diver pointed out ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend.
Argentine driver Franco Colapinto hopes to score points for the first time this season with Alpine. After a disappointing weekend in Interlagos, where his renewal for 2026 was announced, his goal is to improve on the 14th-place finish he achieved last season when he first raced on the Las Vegas circuit with Williams. Franco Colapinto stated, “The weekend in São Paulo was challenging from my side of the garage, but it was great to have a more competitive package and to be fighting for points, as Pierre did in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix. It shows we have a lot to learn, and I hope to take advantage of it in the last three races, aiming for a similar feeling in the car. The weekend had positive moments for me as well. Announcing that I will remain with the team for 2026 was fantastic, and there was no better place to do it than in South America. I am very grateful for the incredible support from fans in Brazil. I am looking forward to starting the season together next year, but before that we have the final three races of this year, starting this weekend in Las Vegas. The circuit is definitely one of the highlights of the season, and not many drivers in history can say they have raced on the famous Las Vegas Strip, so returning for a second year is exciting. The conditions will be a challenge, with the schedule and the drop in desert temperatures playing a key role in our preparation.
