The nephew of two-time Formula 1 world champion Emerson Fittipaldi made an intriguing suggestion during the ‘Pelas Pistas’ podcast. Even though the contracts suggest that only two seats remain to be filled for the 2025 season (one at Sauber and the other at AlphaTauri), it’s well known that another seat is still at risk: Sergio Perez‘s.

Christian Fittipaldi goes against the grain and brings up a name that no one, given the context of this year’s championship, would think to mention: “Much will depend on the situation within the team at the end of the season, but I believe that Oscar Piastri could move to Red Bull and be Verstappen’s teammate in 2025. I don’t see it as entirely impossible.” – he pointed out.
“Maybe having to help Lando Norris, he might get tired of the internal dynamics at McLaren and say: ‘I need to think more about my life and my career’,” Christian Fittipaldi stated, as reported by ‘GPBlog.com’.
It is worth noting that Oscar Piastri currently has a contract with McLaren that runs until the end of the 2026 Formula 1 season. While such agreements can sometimes be flexible when there’s a desire to switch teams, considering the battles and history of the teams involved, it seems highly unlikely that what the Brazilian suggested could materialize in 2025.
