Mercedes, what’s going on? Lewis Hamilton clarifies Singapore difficult situation. Lewis Hamilton has spoken about the strategy used by Mercedes in Singapore.

There’s something interesting happening at Mercedes, as Lewis Hamilton has once again discussed the strategy used at the start of the Singapore Grand Prix. In that case, the British driver surprisingly opted for soft tires to try and capitalize on the opening meters of the race and aim for the lead.

The choice didn’t pay off, and the seven-time world champion finished far from the podium. In the days following the race, it was James Allison himself who clarified the situation after receiving much criticism. “We made a mistake. Our predictions didn’t materialize, and Lewis had to deal with a wrong strategy,” the former Ferrari engineer said on the official channels of the Silver Arrows.

Situation resolved? Not exactly. A week later, Lewis Hamilton has returned to the issue, using social media. The British driver posted a sort of statement in defense of the team, sparking curiosity among fans.

“Hi everyone, the weekend is around the corner, and I’m training for the upcoming races,” the British driver began. “I know there’s been some controversy about the wrong strategy in Singapore. When something like this happens, it’s normal to be frustrated, and sometimes we say the wrong things.”

“We knew that putting on the soft tire was a risk that could have given us an advantage at the start,” Lewis Hamilton added. “I was absolutely in agreement with the team. We miscalculated, and that’s why the choice didn’t pay off.” – the seven-time Formula One world champion pointed out.

“Don’t get me wrong, the relationship with the team is great. To reach the highs, you have to go through the lows. We’re not worried about what’s being said on the outside, and that’s why we’ve done so well over the years. We’ll support each other until the very last day. See you in Austin.” – the future Ferrari driver concluded.
