The Maturità 2025 begins today, and Kimi Antonelli is also ready to take the first Italian exam: a moving backstory comes from the Mercedes driver’s teacher.
Today, for half a million students, the final school exams 2025 begin, and Kimi Antonelli is one of them. The Mercedes driver, fresh from his first Formula 1 podium in Canada, has already returned to Italy (he skipped the New York premiere of the film F1) to best prepare for the State exams.
The first Italian test is now underway, consisting of 7 prompts including texts and text analysis. Kimi Antonelli, 18 years old, balances his Formula 1 career with life as a “normal” high school student at the Gaetano Salvemini Institute in Casalecchio di Reno. He attends the International Relations and Marketing section.
“Kimi Antonelli has always had many sporting commitments, but he never lost sight of school and never lost sight of his goal, which was to take the exams.” These were the words of Professor Alessandra Regina, coordinator of the class attended by the young Bolognese driver, Class 5G, in an interview with Il Corriere della Sera.
Together with all his classmates, Kimi Antonelli faced the first exam. Tomorrow, June 19, will be the English test, followed by the oral exams, as is customary. An important milestone for the rookie, in his debut year in Formula 1 as a full-time Mercedes driver.
In January, he passed his practical driving test. “We are very happy and proud that Kimi is taking the Maturità with his classmates,” Professor Regina added. “He is a very humble boy and his classmates support him.”
This morning, the driver entered through a secondary entrance, the newspaper reveals, to avoid being disturbed by cameras and photographers waiting outside the school. Despite his commitments in Formula 1, teachers and classmates said that the Mercedes driver prepared himself to take the Maturità.
Then, a behind-the-scenes anecdote revealed by the teacher: “Once he told me something beautiful. ‘I’m happy to come back to school and I’m happy to come back to school for my classmates’.” Between Kimi and his classmates there is “a wonderful relationship,” she added. “His dream? To become a Formula 1 champion, and he managed to get on the podium, so we are extremely proud.”
